Climbing the ranks and becoming a member of Dumbo's collection of great coffee shops is no small task.
Not only does a company have to have the vision to tap into the potential that Dumbo offers retailers, restaurants, and residence alike, but they also have to offer something distinct and unique.
Most recently, the Australian-based Bluestone Lane has completed the journey over and across the East River from Manhattan to Brooklyn.
Well aware of the distinct possibilities that having a space in Dumbo affords, Blue Stone Lane has tailored its newest location ––– 55 Prospect Street ––– with not only interior design touches that create a unique feel, but also a fully-licensed bar, complete with cocktails that you won't find in any one of the company's Manhattan locations.
When you visit, it's likely that the navy wallpaper gently graced with flamingos standing confidently on one leg will catch your eye. If nothing else, the flamingos, sprinkled in between the "Welcome to Bluestone Lane DUMBO" add an inviting touch to the space.
As for the cocktails unique to 55 Prospect Street, Bluestone has pegged the "Orange is the New Black," (BL espresso, chocolate-orange ganache, Maker’s Mark and steamed milk) and "Honey I’m Home" (BL cold brew, chocolate bitters, whisky, honey, vanilla bean and coffee liqueur) as two worth trying.
Whether you're looking for a place to grab a quick coffee on your way to work, somewhere to meet with a client outside of the office, or a new space to have an afterwork drink, Bluestone Lane's Dumbo shop should be added to your list, and visited sooner, rather than later.
